Albania in Focus: A Travel Photographer’s Diary
An Unnoticed beauty of Berat castle.
In October 2024, my wife and I embarked on our first international trip together after marriage, exploring the hidden gems of Albania. As a travel photographer, I was thrilled to capture the essence of this beautiful country, filled with history, breath-taking landscapes, and warm hospitality.

Our journey began on October 7th, flying from London Luton Airport to Tirana, arriving at 10 PM. From there, we set out to explore various cities, including Berat, Durrës, Tirana and the stunning Lake Bovilla. Each destination had its unique charm, offering a mix of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and vibrant local life.
We explored Tirana, Berat, Durrës, and Lake Bovilla. Berat’s Ottoman houses and ancient charm were mesmerizing. Durrës’ amphitheater and golden beaches were perfect for photography. Bunk’Art Museum revealed Albania’s communist past. The people’s warmth and delicious cuisine, like sufolonga, made our journey unforgettable. Albania’s beauty is truly a photographer’s paradise.
